NASA and Arizona-based startup Katalyst launched a robotic spacecraft over the Pacific on Thursday on a mission to rescue an aging NASA satellite observatory while ​demonstrating a new orbital grappling technology at the center of the U.

NASA and its partners are now targeting launch no earlier than 4:35 a.m. EDT (0835 UTC) on Friday, July 3. The previous launch attempt was scrubbed after software affected the Pegasus XL rocket's navigation performance before release from its carrier aircraft.
